I am so honoured to have been nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award by the wonderful Abbey over at Abbey’s Chronicles, the amazing Nikki over at LovemeTreatme, the always compassionate Chris at A Borderline Dad, and the fantsatic Pamela over at Rollin With The P.
I ask you to give them all a visit, a follow and read their posts! Each are equally as insightful and captivating as the next.
When I first started this blog I never thought it would grow the way it has, and to be nominated for this award makes me feel that I must be doing something right. I want to thank all of you who read my blogs, follow me on my socials and those who are/have been involved in collaborations for your continued support.
What is The Blogger Recognition Award?
The award is an award given to fellow bloggers to show their appreciation for each other’s hard work, creativity, and wonderful content.
How my blog began;
My blog began back in January 2019. I was suffering from a recent relapse into anorexia nervosa and depression, and I just needed to write in order to get everything out of my head.
I blogged every day of that month but never published any of it (I might someday) because it was so dark and depressing. My blog was mostly on private back then so it was for my eyes only.
In Feb I decided to write about recovery in order to keep myself motivated. I also joined twitter for the social aspect of it all because I was (am) so lonely in real life. These decisions ended up being some of the best I have ever made this side of my life. I’m convinced that had I given up writing or never joined twitter that I would still be very much within relapse, with little to no motivation to take recovery seriously.
Now here I am knee deep in a wonderful community full of wonderful content creators. I’m now motivated to try and make a job out of my blogging, and I know it’s possible with the help of the community behind me.
Advice to new bloggers.
- Keep going.
- Get stuck into the Facebook groups, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
- Don’t be afraid to promote your own stuff; Believe in yourself.
- You don’t have to buy a domain or spend £100’s; You can do it all for free. In fact at the start I advise it.
- Get Grammarly – there is a free version – it’s the best thing I ever did for my writing.
- Plan ahead!
- Set up a schedule!
- Use a planner to help you plan out your blogs!
- Read about blogging and ask questions!
I’m fairly new to this, as you can gather, so I feel like I am getting a bit ahead of myself giving advice. I now realise I was only meant to give two pieces of advice, but here, have a bit more than that.
My nominees for this award are:
I could nominate 20, 30 even 40 people for this award, but I’m only allowed to nominate 10! It was very hard for me to pick 10 people to nominate for this;
- Mo – Treat Yo Brain
- Joy – Joyfull Joy Food
- Nicole – Nicole’s Journey
- Chris – BPDDad
- Laura – Do Five Things A Day
- Jessica – All For Myself
- Meowisthetime – Meow is the time.
- ECBC – ECBC Manchester
- Caralyn – Beauty Beyond Bones
- Katie – Stumbling Mind
